Lion
(Panthera leo)

The Lion is a large mammals of the Felidae (cat)
family, that is second in size only to the tiger.
Some large males weigh over 550 lb (250 kg).

They live in savannah grasslands across
Sub-Saharan Africa and in Western India.
Male lions have prominent mane, which is
the most recognisable feature of the species.

Lions prey on a large variety of animals such
as zebras, antelopes and bufallos.
