Hippopotamus
(Hipopotamus amphibius)
The hipopotamus inhabits rivers, lakes and
mangroves swamps. During the day, they
submerged in the water or mud to keep their
massive bodies cool under the hot African sun.
Despite their stocky shape and short legs, it is
capable of running 30 km/h (19mph) over
short distance.
